Botanic Arrest, 2015, is a series of reduction woodblocks that explore a natural connection between botany and Fibonaccian geometry.
A line is easily drawn between the two as they are intimately connected; the twisting, curling, and overall forming
of plant life is grounded in the Golden Ratio and the Fibonacci Sequence.
The hard geometric lines also comment on our natural environment in conjunction
with urban structures. While the environment is tainted by our pollution and decimated to make way for urbanization,
it is ever resilient: growing between concrete cracks, intertwining with chain-link fences, and creeping alongside
building walls.
